Searching For A Mail In Outlook

Your Outlook mailbox folders are the guardians of your mails and the Outlook mailbox folders are often filled with heaps of mails. By following the below provided guidelines, you can easily search for the desired mail.

Instructions

  • Access the Microsoft Outlook program that is installed in your system by choosing the Microsoft Outlook option from the Start menu or double clicking the Microsoft Outlook desktop shortcut icon. Microsoft Outlook can also be accessed from the specific location in the hard disk.
  • When Outlook opens, click on Mail from the main menu bar.
  • From the navigation pane, choose the folder in which you want to search for the mails or choose All Mail Items, in order to include all the folders for your search.
  • In the search box, enter the desired phrase. Now Outlook will start to search for mails that contain the particular phrase and the search results containing the particular search phrase will spring up as you type the phrase.
  • If you require adding advanced filters to the search, towards the right of the search box, a downward pointing double arrow can be seen- you need to click it. In order to shrink your search results, you can remove the unwanted message subjects, time frames, senders etc.
  • In the list of the search results, choose the email that you were searching for and the full mail can be viewed in the message pane.
