- Take a blank DVD/CD and insert in the computer. You can utilize a USB drive as well.
- Run the software and from this, choose one of the options to recover the password. There are two options to choose, one is Reset Windows Domain Administrator Password, while the other is Reset Windows Local Account Password.
- You need to note that this option to create a password recovery disk is available only in Windows 7 Enterprise Version.
- You need to choose the Disk that you have inserted in order to burn the CD to use it as a password recovery disk later.
- In case you are using a USB flash drive, this is available only in Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Professional versions.
- Click on the Burn button to start burning the CD.
- Enter the most probable Password that you might have chosen. In case the password is wrong, it will display a message saying The Username or Password is incorrect; click on the Reset option to reset the password.
- Insert the password reset disk in the computer. Click on Reset Password. This will open the Password Reset Wizard. To continue the process, click on Next.
- From the drop down menu, you have to select the Password Reset Disk. Click on Next to go to the next step.
- In this screen, you have to Enter a new password. You will have to type it Twice in order to confirm that the password you have chosen is right.
- Now click on Next button and then the Finish button. This will Close the password reset wizard.
- In the login screen, type the New password.
